Couldn’t stop reading until I finished it

July 23, 2025

You could feel the authenticity of it, going through the book it felt exactly the same as it would if i was spending some time talking with Shiv at ChaiPoint drinking tea. Especially loved the digital evidence parts something i think a lot more books should have.

chapter 8 really resonated with me, i think the fact that it had no title made perfect sense, Learning so much about what someone’s been through makes you think and wonder how you could be doing so much more! Would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

The Convincing Lie seeks to bridge the gap between self-doubt and courage, between guided instruction and personal discovery, and between the obvious and the hidden.

I have had the privilege of knowing Shiv personally and witnessing his journey up close. His book, The Convincing Lie, thoughtfully distills the key lessons he has gathered along the way, presenting them in a manner that is both clear and accessible. Throughout the book, there are numerous simple yet profound moments that I found both enjoyable and thought-provoking. While certain themes could have been explored more deeply—leaving readers like myself curious for more—the narrative succeeds in its core mission. At its heart, The Convincing Lie seeks to bridge the gap between self-doubt and courage, between guided instruction and personal discovery, and between the obvious and the hidden.

Changed my perspective of thinking, and made me Trust the process of working towards a Goal

A thought in my mind after having read the book completely is that every person reading this book would definitely be able to relate atleast one of the chapters with their personal life, as it was the case with me too.

Most important to share, I’m a person who’d prefer podcasts over books, but since the day I had this book in my hand, I was somehow determined to complete it and I was surprised to have finished reading the complete book within 7 hours combined over 2 days, which in my case was an achievement. This was possible may be because I was able to resonate with several chapters. Since then I have started reading few other books too which demands my gratefulness to the author for instilling the habit of reading in me.

An easy to understand book for every simple “Ordinary person” to be a better “Ordinary person”.

Refreshing take on life, success, and everything in between

You know how when you are growing up the world tells you things “should” operate but at the back of your head you think something feels unnatural but can’t put a pin on it. Well reading “Convincing Lie” has been a journey of reconnecting with that inner voice and hearing how our intuition is there for a reason.

It brings an interesting take on topics like intent, authenticity, response to fear and lot more which is rarely talked about in your everyday books in similar genre.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Would highly recommend everyone to read the book, which frankly feels like a candid conversation with the author.

A handy read not only for freshers but also for those who struggle to adapt to the corporate environment due to certain preconceptions and biases. The book offers simple yet thoughtful insights on soft skills, self-awareness, and mindset shifts. It encourages observing, reflecting, and unlearning outdated patterns to better align with today’s workplace. Instead of preaching, it gently nudges the reader toward growth and adaptability. Ideal for anyone wanting to reset their approach and respond better to change. A light yet meaningful guide for navigating modern work culture with more clarity and confidence.
